Interesting who is supporting SUCCESS. I assume that Mazzone Administrative Group is associated with Angelo Mazonne who is one of the principals of Saratoga National Golf Course. He along with Tom Newkirk were generous supporters. I think W.P. Dake is Bill Dake of Stewarts Shops. I believe that John Hendrickson of Geyser Road is the husband of Mary Lou Whitney. Charles Wait is the owner of Adirondack Trust. I assume J. T. Roohan is John Roohan of Roohan Realty.

Saratoga Springs Politics 
All those names and donors….. and not one of them has a legit, coherent argument against charter change – except to keep the power where it already is. It’s sad really.
Someone should ask Matt Veitch what he thinks of charter change….

John Kaufman’s posting of ‘It’s Time Saratoga’ donors implied, just as John Franck did the night before, that there was some sinister “political” reason for the donation from the International City/County Manager Association (ICMA). Yet there is no speculation offered on the intent of the donors to the SUCCESS group.
Let’s be objective about this: ‘It’s Time Saratoga’ approached ICMA to help get NY City Manager’s to participate in educational Q&A sessions, held at the library. In the process they asked them for a donation, which they agreed to. ICMA’s stated objective is to “advance local government through leadership, management, innovation and ethics. That’s exactly what ITS want’s and believes the proposed charter will facilitate that. Nothing opaque or sinister about the intent.
Why isn’t the SUCCESS donor list posting also titled “Where did the money come from to pay for ….”? I suggest John K attend (as he could have two other times) the “Meet a Manager” discussion tonight (Library) to answer his own questions about what politics a City Manager is allowed, instead of speculating about in a post.
Now, what is the intent of the SUCCESS donors? From my perspective, it’s nothing more than “keep it the way it is”, which explains nothing.
