  1. I find it very interesting that the three Council members who are looking for every possible way to give more and more money to their deputies were all cheerleaders for charter change. Many will recall that the last version of charter change that Sanghvi, Kim, and Moran tried to promote (and that was soundly defeated) claimed the deputies did practically no work and that one city manager could do the work of all the council members and their deputies. I’m not kidding-check it out!

    1. Straight shooter has a great memory. I do recall those bizarro statements about Deputies not being needed. And Kim thought he was going to be Mayor and City Attorney at the same time.

Sanghvi and Moran should be considered lame ducks. Moot point for Minita, because she will be Albany’s problem after November elections. NOT !!

      1. And let’s not forget, Henry 37, that when Ron Kim became Commissioner of Public Safety, he said he didn’t need a Deputy. Once he was in office, he said he needed two. It’s enough to give one whiplash.
As for Ms. Sanghvi, as Commissioner of Finance she has raised taxes each of the two years she has been in office. The city budget she prepared for 2024 went over the state tax cap, and she didn’t even notice that when she presented it to the Council for a vote. Now she, who as Finance Commissioner in our form of government is supposed to be the watchdog of the city finances, not only voted for this ridiculous on call pay for the Deputies and failed to review it as she promised, but she signed off on her Deputy collecting it, something her Deputy was clearly ineligible to do. That’s a great record to run on for higher office.
