  1. The story isn’t an incumbent mayor with party support winning a primary, the story is hundreds of local democrats taking time out of their day to go out and vote against their Party’s designated nominee. That is pretty stunning. Kim’s campaign is gravely wounded as he starts his run for the general.

    1. Chris Mathiesen loves his hometown of Saratoga Springs and is passionate about bringing positive change to his beloved community. I agree that Kim’s
campaign is gravely wounded. November will be the test.

    1. There is a way to make Chris Mathiesen Mayor. Chris has only just begun his fight to bring back normalcy and civility to City Hall. Vote for Chris in November on the One Saratoga party line.

  2. I thought that it would be closer given what I was hearing during the many hours of walking our City neighborhoods. The results are disappointing but I will ‘hang in there’ through November 7 as we continue to campaign on the One Saratoga line.

    Chris Mathiesen

    1. It will also be interesting to see the disparity in campaign funds spent on the primary by each candidate.

  3. Chris Mathiesen will win in November for Mayor on the One Saratoga line. Saratoga Springs desperately needs a positive change in government and Chris is just the person to do so. Let’s bring back civility, boost morale, support our police and have everyone at City Hall proud to be serving there again……..

  4. Chris can’t win with John Stafford on the GOP ballot, unfortunately. (wasted votes that elect Kim)
John could endorse Chris and bow out but I think his name will remain on the ballot.
Sad times ahead for us in Saratoga.
As an independent I can only vote for Chris in November.

Thank you to Chris and all of his supporters for this effort.

  5. I removed any party affiliation from my voter registration years ago (I think it was 2012).

I will be voting for Chris Mathiesen, he is the closest we have to an Independent representative (and not the Bernie Sanders type of Independent, who votes with one party 99% of the time)

Chris will be able to work effectively with all of the personalities on the Council, and has the credibility with local businesses and the SSPD to bring these groups together and help Saratoga thrive.

  6. Chris Mathiesen has about as much chance of winning mayor as Adam Israel and Robin Dalton did of winning their races, which makes sense given that he paid Robin to run his losing campaign.

Madigan managed because she was the incumbent and still in office, and because there was no republican challenger for finance (because she was the Republican candidate).

Mathiesen will get like 200 votes, and Ron will handily defeat John Safford (who has a resume unmarred by a single win). If you think otherwise you’re deluding yourself.
