Interesting Rating of Local Hospitals By The Centers For Medicare and Medicaid Services

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid have published an extensive survey in which they rated 3,617 hospitals nationally on a scale of 1 to 5. Here are the ratings for a number of major players in our area:

Saratoga  Hospital            3

Albany Med                       2

St. Peter’s                           3

Glens Falls Hospital         4

In an interesting article from the Kaiser Health News, the response to the study prompted a campaign by the hospital industry to block the ratings.

  1. I just read this heartbreaking post about our “community” hospital:
    PLEASE READ:

For all of my prayer warriors out there, please pray for placement for my Dad!!! 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

Saratoga Hospital has asked us to transfer him from their care to what our government has rated one of the worst nursing homes in the country. It is on a government watch list. If you know anyone at an amazing nursing home or who can get us into an amazing home please let me know. We are looking for the perfect place for him. We will take even a good place and transfer him closer or to better later. Right now my Mother is being charged daily for his care since we refused his placement in their pick of homes. Saratoga Hospital closed their nursing home wing down and are in the process of placing all of their patients too. Needless to say we know who is getting the local beds, not us!!
He served our country for many years too! It is sad how we treat the elderly and our service men.
